Where are the men in the church?! If you’ve been to church in the last decade or so you will notice a disproportionate ratio of women to men in the Christian church. Some men seem disinterested in church and challenging to keep them engaged for a short period of time. What’s the solution to this problem? Do men need to change or does this issue fall on the church to change so it can attract men once again? Are men leaving church or leaving God? Let’s talk about it with some our very own Men of MyGen.
Does God condone slavery or despise it? What does the Bible teach us about a person “owning” another person? There are examples of God freeing His people from slavery. However, there are numerous examples of prominent Bible characters owning slaves. So which is it? Pastor Duddley Francois brings clarity to this topic in our latest edition of Asking for a Friend.
This week’s Asking for a Friend series is “How Can I Reach Out to an Athiest”. Our very own Kaydee Jones shares her testimony from Athiesm to Christianity. She will share her initial attraction to atheism and specifically what steered her away from it towards a relationship with God. Also, Kaydee highlights her experiences in searching for God, her reluctance, and the process of surrendering. In addition, she will share her experience in the church as a new believer, as well as, her walk with God. You don’t want to miss it.
The Father and Son have clear roles in the God-head, but the Holy Spirit’s role seems less obvious. So, what is the purpose of the Holy Spirit exactly? Is the Holy Spirit really part of the God-head? Is the Holy Spirit metaphorical or is it real? The apostles didn’t emphasize the Holy Spirit as much as the Father and Son, so is the Holy Spirit really that important in someone’s faith walk? Pastor Regina Johnson, Administrative Pastor at Grace Community SDA Church, provides us with biblical answers to these questions on this week’s Ask for a Friend.
