Pastor Marquis D. Johns talks about what role race should play in the Christian faith. He also addresses unity through diversity in the midst of social injustice in the world.

Brief Background:

Marquis D. Johns is a California native and currently serves as the conference evangelist for the Black Ministries Department of the Southeastern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, and director of Adventist Community Services and Prison Ministries for the Conference. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Church Leadership from Oakwood University and a Master’s of Arts in Religion with a concentration in Metropolitan Ministry from Washington Adventist University.

Prior to receiving God’s call to ministry, he dropped out of school, spent time in jail, and sold drugs. He also became a chart-topping rap artist. However in 2002, through the power of prayer, the Holy Spirit spoke to Pastor Johns and he accepted God’s salvation and call to ministry.
