Prayer Ministry
What does prayer mean to you? Is it a means to an end where we try to appease God to get what we want, a formality, a religious checkout, tradition, a way to avoid punishment or maybe a good luck charm?
MyGeneration Church is attempting to change those misconceptions by going back to the biblical meaning of prayer. The first time prayer is mentioned in the Bible was in Genesis 20 where God called Abraham to pray for Abimelech (verse 17)“Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech...” We find it significant that God introduces prayer into His Word by calling on His chosen to pray for someone else. Prayer is the process where God prepares us to do His will and a method of communication to connect with God on a deeper level.
MyGen is a body of flawed people seeking to do more of God’s will and we use the most powerful tool -prayer to connect with God and His people. We want to use this tool to uplift one another in times of need as well as be there when there is no immediate need.

My prayer request is for my family’s very close family friend named Tyra. Her mother, and my mom’s best friend, named Linda, passed away this Saturday. Today is Tyra’s 23rd birthday, and heartbreakingly, both of her parents have now passed. Please keep her lifted in prayer and cover her with love and strength
I also ask for prayers for my mom. Linda was a sister to my mother who watched me and Hannah grow. She was my mom’s biggest supporter and stayed by her side through everything. We loved her deeply.

My prayer requests are many…for God’s guidance to be clear as day for my next professional steps, for the strength to obey him no matter what, for my old PCP’s daughter looking to go to med school, for financial support, a cousin of my mom’s committed suicide so we’re in need of support and comfort in grief, for family members who are dealing with hardships in Haiti (that God sustains them and provides us with the resources to help them), and for God to provide a faith community like MyGen when I relocate soon.
