“Me, Myself, and God” Fasting & Prayer Day

Pray without ceasing

MYGEN Church
Personal Prayer Fast

For the past few weeks, we have been praying for God to reveal to us many different Spiritual Cancers: things that strive to separate us from God, things that would ultimately cost us our salvation. Today, we are going to pray for ourselves, our needs, our wants, our desires, the car, apartment, job that we desire, the spouse we are waiting on God for, a change of heart, a change in character, and to reflect God more in our day to day interactions with those who are struggling to learn God for themselves. While there is nothing wrong in praying for the big things (our country, world leaders, interceding for others) there is value and importance in seeking God for yourself and the things that you really need.

From 12 AM to 11:59 PM you will be praying for yourselves. You will intentionally bring before God, the things that matter most to you. Do Not hold anything back, but lay it all out before your creator. He is waiting to hear from you.

Pray for yourself.

To DO

  • Post on your social media:
Today, it’s all about Me, Myself, and God. I will bring all my personal concerns, desires, needs and wants before God.
  • Create a list of all the things you want to bring to God’s feet. Put this list in a place where you can see it.
  • Ask God to allow you to fully abandon self, ego and pride that prevents us from desiring what God really wants for us.
  • Remember there is a difference between a want and a need. Please be flexible in adjusting your list of requests as God speaks.
  • Ask the Holy Spirit for clarity regarding what we should ask of God. James 4:3, 1 Chronicles 4:10, 1 Kings 3:1-15
  • Present your request with prayer, petition and thanksgiving. Philippians 4:6
  • Be direct. Matthew 7:7-8

Do Not

  • Allow the devil to cause you to believe that what concerns you isn’t important to God. If it is important to you, it is important to God, no matter how big or small.
  • Allow the devil to cause you to believe that praying for yourself is selfish. While there is nothing wrong with praying for others, it is equally important to entrust God with your own endeavours.
  • Idolize any request. How can one idolize a request? By desiring this request be filled more than desiring God. Matthew 6:33
  • Force God to be on your agenda. God is not a genie or a magician. He is a good Father and knows exactly when to grant or deny our requests. Trust His timing and His will for your life. Proverbs 3:5-6
  • Bargain with God.
