The Fruit of the Spirit
If you plant an orange seed, the tree will bear oranges. Likewise, if you plant an apple seed, the tree will bear apples. If you plant the Holy Spirit in your heart, your character will bear the Fruit of the Spirit. As Christians, we desire to have the Holy Spirit living and dwelling within us. We want The Holy Spirit’s transforming power to exist within and through us. What is the evidence that the Holy Spirit has taken a seat in our hearts? We begin to bear His fruits. Our reaction to stressful situations begin to change, we approach sticky situations with our “Jesus Glasses” on.
Today, from 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM, we will spend time at God’s feet and study the Fruit of the Spirit. Note, that while there are many lusts of the flesh, there is one Fruit of the Spirit. There are different ways that the devil can prove that someone is operating under his influence. While some are similar and work hand in hand, some are as different as night and day. The only common thread, they are all signs that the devil is using someone as his agent; however, when the Holy Spirit takes root in your heart, one fruit appears. In this case, think of the Holy Spirit as a seed: one seed, one fruit, vs one seed, multiple fruits. No matter which part of the fruit you see, or which is used, it all reflects the Holy spirit dwelling within us. They are all related, and work hand in hand. Always remember, we change when we allow the Holy Spirit to take root in our heart. This change is visibly seen by others and will naturally draw them to God working through you.
