MyGeneration Church moderates a selection of WhatsApp chats which we use for various forms of church communication. The five official chats and their purposes are as follows:
MyGen Communications
This chat is only used for official church announcements and communications to the friends and families of our church. All other posting in this chat, unless approved by the lead coordinators or communications director, is prohibited.
MyGen Shenanigans
This chat was created for the sole purpose of casual chatting. Although there are less restrictions in this chat we discourage discussing politics or extreme religious viewpoints as they may lead to heated debates. This chat’s purpose is to be fun and light-hearted, and we should seek to keep it as peaceful as possible.
MyGen Prayer Warriors
This chat is for those who desire to engage in intercessory prayer and testimony. It is a place where urgent prayer requests are posted and prayed for, and testimonies of God’s answers to prayer are shared. Only prayer-related posts are permitted in this chat.
Men of MyGen
This chat is for men only. It is a safe space for men to bond over shared interests and discuss various topics from a male perspective.
Women of MyGen
This chat is for women only. It is a safe space for women to bond over shared interests and discuss various topics from a female perspective.
General Rules
1. No Spam
These forums define spam as unsolicited advertisement for goods, services and/or other web sites, or posts with little, or completely unrelated content. While we won’t discourage you from promoting yourself, please refrain from overwhelming this forum with links to your business, product, website, social media pages, etc.
2. Do not post offensive or inappropriate material
Any material—including links, comments, images, and media—which constitutes defamation, harassment, or abuse is strictly prohibited. Material that is, or can be perceived as, sexually or otherwise obscene, racist, misogynistic or otherwise discriminatory is not permitted on these chats. This includes user pictures. Please think before posting.
These chats are for church communication. They should provide a safe place where only wholesome content and interactions are shared.
3. Do not PM other users in the chat without their consent.
Do not send private messages to any users without their consent.
4. Remain respectful of other members at all times
All posts should be professional and courteous. You have every right to disagree with your fellow community members and explain your perspective. However, you are not free to attack, degrade, insult, or otherwise belittle them or the quality of this community.

Regardless of title or position, everyone is expected to follow the guidelines outlined above. By joining any of these chats, you agree to abide by the general rules, and accept that violation of these rules may result in removal.
