Today from 2:00 AM to 11:59 PM, we will be fasting from praying for ourselves and instead focus on interceding for others. As Christians, we are called to be selfless and to put the needs of others before ourselves, to reflect a Christ-like attitude. When Christ was on earth, He spent much of His time caring about the needs of others, talking to His Father about us, bringing us to His Father’s feet and asking God for the best ways to minister to His brothers and sisters, God’s children.
Everyday Praise
In every situation, our only choices are fear and faith. Since these two cannot coexist, we must always choose. We need to praise God in the good times and we need to praise God in the bad times. Praise is our weapon against the forces of evil; it is comfort in our stormy seasons and it gives us hope that God works all things out for good. Isaiah 25:1 says, “O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure.” A life filled with consistent praise will forever change our walk with God. Add prayer to the equation and we’ve defeated every enemy on the battlefield before the war has started. Here are 5 benefits of praising God in advance.

Each one of us battles different issues, concerns, trials and tribulations. It’s easy to allow them to overwhelm us to the point where we are distracted. They sit on our minds, and rest in our hearts. We get consumed with our problems so much that we oftentimes forget to talk to God. ΄We literally allow the devil to use our troubles to stifle our praise and silence our prayers. He magnifies our distractions while minimizing the Power of God.
MYGEN Church Fasting & Prayer – 9-20-17
Today, Wednesday from 12:00AM to 11:59PM we will be fasting from entertaining the devil’s thoughts and falling into temptations by responding with a passage of scripture. (i.e. when the devil tries to tell you that you aren’t loved by God, your response would be “My Father said because He loved me so much, He sent His only Son to die for me” John 3:16) It’s harder for us to resist the devil and flee from him, if we don’t know how he is attacking us individually. By identifying where he’s attacking you, you can prepare a strategic defense that is God divined and Biblically supported. This is a great opportunity to develop an escape plan. Whatever we learn in this fast will be how we’ll deal with our temptations in the future. Even if we wind up in a different scenario, this time we will have acquired ammunition.
Finding Your Way Back
Losing your way is easy because following the crowd is easy. It only takes one little mistake that you get used to. The bigger mistakes take time, but you get used to those too. Before you know it, what’s wrong seems right, and you’ve lost sight of what’s actually right. You look in the mirror and don’t recognize the reflection staring back at you. It’s a good thing God knew the devil would make you feel this way.

Today we will be fasting from allowing our past to keep us from becoming the person God ordained for us to be by giving our past to God. We are so focused on the past that we allow it to consume us.
It IS a Love Thing (Part 1)
I have heard many times fellow Christians grumbling about sermons that focus more on God’s love than God’s wrath as being somewhat deceiving. The term I usually hear translated to English is that it’s akin to “warm water”. In fact, they prefer sermons that only talk about God’s judgment and the upcoming destruction of this sinful world. If the sermon makes no mention of God’s love, they hardly even notice.
A Church Reimagined
I have been at this Christianity thing my entire life. Growing up, my relationship with God has had its ups, drastic downs, and most times its resembled more of an EKG scan. Not too low, but also not too high for too long. I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out why it has been so hard and why actually giving up on the whole thing has seemed a viable option.

Being a single Christian in the 21st Century is stressful and a bit scary. Most of us choose to focus on our education and career and suddenly declare, “Wow! That took much longer than expected.” Miraculously, this declaration coincides with the exact time every loved one asks ad nauseam, “Why are you still single?”
Selfie Matters: More Than Enough
It’s awesome that God always sees beyond our potential and He desires to stretch us beyond the limits we’ve placed on ourselves. However, the devil tricks us into thinking that our current status and circumstances dictate our future. Satan formulates lies that are fueled by feelings of low self-worth and inadequacy that keep us in our safe zone.
